Mitsubishi Electric Full-SiC Power Modules

With an increasing emphasis is being placed on the energy efficiency and downsizing of power conversion systems, Silicon Carbide (SiC), with its outstanding material characteristics, is anticipated to be adopted across a wide range of applications as an alternative to traditional silicon-based semiconductor devices. Mitsubishi Electric began mass production of SiC modules in 2013. To contribute to even higher efficiency, downsizing, and weight reduction of industrial equipment, Mitsubishi Electric has enhanced their lineup to include SiC (600/1200/3300V) power modules for a wide range of applications.

Features:

  • Contributes to the high efficiency, downsizing and weight reduction of equipment through a low-loss characteristic and high carrier frequency drive

  • Achieves both short circuit withstand capability and low ON-resistance by featuring an RTC circuit

  • Heat dissipation is improved through optimization of the internal chip layout

Applications:

  • Motion control

  • Renewable energy

  • Power supply, Uninterruptable power supply (UPS)
